OBD Data Logger

Product Details

Designed to seamlessly integrate with the parSYNC® FLEX, the 3DATX OBD Data Logger is an optional device used to capture vehicle activity data. This means that vehicle and engine speed, air flow rate, throttle position, lambda, air intake temperature and much more can be captured straight from the vehicle. In-house software is available to time align this data to the parSYNC® emissions data, and then calculate mass-based emission results.

Heated Sample Line

Product Details

A heated sample line is available for the FLEX, providing continuous heating of the sample from the tailpipe to the measurement chamber. This prevents water condensation, thus limiting the losses induced by the capture of particles and gases by liquid water, thereby increasing the accuracy of measurements. The insulation around the heated line minimises energy losses to maximise battery running times, while its flexible nature enables optimised placement of the equipment to suit individual test setups.

The Milwaukee M18 5.0 Ah Li-Ion batteries powering both FLEX and CUBE systems can be charged via Milwaukee chargers. There are a range of types available, allowing a bespoke setup to suit individual needs. The double bay rapid chargers allow one or two batteries to recharge in approximately 1 hour. Redlink intelligence allows communication between charger and battery pack to ensure optimum performance and extend battery life.

For use with both FLEX and FLEX-PNC battery packs.

Did you know you can connect a third-party exhaust flow meter to the parSYNC® FLEX? This feature means that exhaust flow rate can be
incorporated in real-time and used to calculate accurate mass emission rates from the measured concentration values.

Modern diesel vehicles with SCR are equipped with onboard NH3 and NOx sensors but their readings are typically unavailable from OBD. parSYNC® users can install similar sensors in a tailpipe extension and directly read concentration data in real-time.

J1979 to J1939 Adapter

J1979 to J1939 Adapter

Product Details

Heavy duty vehicles communicate ECU information via a different system to light-duty vehicles. But with the J1939 adapter, the ECU information is still accessible to the FLEX. Simply plug the J1939 end of the adapter into the J1939 port of the vehicle, and connect the OBD II end of the adapter to the OBD Logger provided with the FLEX (or any other OBD logger of choice) and the ECU data can be captured.

Sensor Cartridges

Product Details

The parSYNC FLEX utilises a hot-swappable cartridge technology for optimum flexibility of test setup and adaptability to conditions in the field. It also allows for our cartridge recycling program, reSYNC, which is better for the environment and decreases user running costs.

The FLEX has three different cartridges, each measuring a specific set of pollutants. The measurement ranges for each are optimised to suit anticipated combustion concentrations, with high response time, resolution and accuracy. The three cartridges and their working principles are: 

  • C-GasMOD Cartridge measures CO, CO2, HC via NDIR and O2 via electrochemical cell 
  • N-GasMOD Cartridge measures NO and NO2 via individual electrochemical cells 
  • Particulates Cartridge measures PN and PM via combination of Scattering, Ionization and Opacity sensor values.

Tubing

Product Details

The gases are transported to and from the FLEX equipment via A-60-G Tygon sample tubing with an internal diameter of 3.175 mm (0.125 in). This high-performance, low gas-permeability tubing is resistant to acids and alkali, and it can withstand extreme temperatures without cracking or deteriorating. This makes it ideal for the transport of exhaust gas.

HEPA filters

HEPA Filters

Product Details

Placed at the zero or sample inlet lines, HEPA filters remove all particle matter to enable accurate zeroing of the particulate sensors. The same HEPA filters are also used within the FLEX unit to filter the sample gas of particulate matter before it enters the GasMOD cartridges. This increases the performance and life expectancy of these sensors. The HEPA filters used are Balston 9933-03-DQ Filters, which have 93% filtration at 10 nm, and have dimensions of 1-inch diameter, 1.1-inch length, and internal volume 0.004 L.

Pumps

Product Details

There are two different types of pumps employed by the FLEX system, depending which iteration of the FLEX is being considered: The Parker E107-12-090, a 9V, 1500 hr pump is employed by FLEX units up to ES0037, and the Parker E259-12, a 12V, 10000 hr pump is employed from FLEX serial number ES0038 onward.

Exhaust Probe Assembly

Product Details

The parSYNC FLEX is equipped with a sample probe for exhaust tailpipe sampling. This sample probe can be attached straight into the tailpipe of a vehicle using the metal clip, allowing representative exhaust sampling for accurate pollutant concentration measurement.
